SNP leader denies ‘going mental’ at Labour MP over gay marriage 8
4:43 PM — SNP leader Alex Salmond has denied going "absolutely mental" at a Labour MP who asked him to comment on the gay marriage controversy. He and Labour MP Thomas Docherty were visiting a Dunfermline school On Wednesday when Mr Docherty claims he asked the First Minister to make a statement on SNP MP Bill Walker's "despicable" comments on gay marriage.
Florida teacher suspended for Facebook anti-gay remarks 69
3:49 PM — A Florida teacher who wrote on Facebook that he "almost threw up" when New York legalised gay marriage has been suspended. Jerry Buell, a social studies teacher at Mount Dora High School, also wrote that gay marriages were a "cesspool" and a "sin".
Gay protests greet Pope’s visit to Spain 31
2:36 PM — Gay rights campaigners in Spain held a protest last night to mark the Pope's visit to the country. The Pontiff is in Spain for a four-day visit but critics complain that the country cannot afford the cost of the trip. Estimates suggest the total cost could reach 100 million euros.

MP and Ugandan bishop speak out for gay asylum seeker 19
11:52 AM — A Liberal Democrat MP and a Ugandan bishop are calling for a gay asylum seeker to be given the right to stay in the UK. Mike Hancock, the MP for Portsmouth South, and Anglican Bishop Christopher Senyonjo say that 33-year-old Robert Segwanyi will face harassment and possibly violence if he is sent home.

Keighley man jailed for horrific attack on lesbian couple 57
10:09 AM — A 22-year-old man from Keighley, West Yorkshire, has been jailed for six and a half years for a vicious attack on a lesbian couple. Adrian Feather was said to have borne a grudge against Verona Benson and Tracey Williams after an incident in a pub.
