EastEnders actress Pam St Clement is reportedly planning to write a book about her quarter of a century with the soap.

The bisexual star, who plays Pat Evans, announced last month she will soon leave the programme.

St Clement joined the soap in 1986. Since then, her character has been married four times, been a prostitute, survived a heart attack and killed a teenager in a drink-driving collision.

The actress has rarely spoken about her personal life, although it is known that she grew up in care homes and boarding schools.

She is a long-time supporter of gay rights charity Stonewall.

The Sun reports that St Clement has already begun work on the book, which will be released after she leaves EastEnders this Christmas.
