10:46 PM — The bisexual deputy-leader of the Liberal Democrats, Simon Hughes, is to sue News International over the hacking of his phone by a private investigator working for the now defunct News of the World.

5:26 PM — Police are appealing for information after a gay man was attacked, sexually assaulted and robbed on London's Hampstead Heath. Officers believe the victim may also have been drugged.
San Francisco married gay couple lose immigration case 118
4:41 PM — A married gay couple in San Francisco who have lived together for nearly 20 years have been told that one must leave the US by August 25th. Bradford Wells and Antony John Makk married seven years ago in Massachusetts. For most of the last 19 years, they have shared a home in the Castro district.
Australia’s first gay and lesbian retirement village to be built 18
3:58 PM — Work on Australia's first gay, bisexual and lesbian retirement village is to begin next year. A 120-unit complex is being built in Ballan in Victoria with a croquet lawn, indoor spa and bar.
Judge rules Shrien Dewani can be extradited to South Africa for trial
2:57 PM — A British judge has ruled that millionaire businessman Shrien Dewani can be extradited to South Africa to stand trial over the murder of his wife. Anni Dewani, 29, was shot dead in Cape Town, South Africa, in November during an apparent hijacking. Local police believe her husband arranged for her to be killed by hitmen.

12:42 PM — Gay football fans have voted Liverpool and England midfielder Steven Gerrard the hottest premiership player. The Gaydar survey of 4,276 men put Chelsea's Fernando Torres in second place, while teammate Frank Lampard was third.
Trial continues over gay school shooting
12:12 PM — The trial of a boy accused of shooting dead a gay classmate has heard that administrators failed to address problems around the victim's clothes and behaviour. Brandon McInerney, who was 14 at the time, is accused of shooting 15-year-old Larry King in the back of the head during a lesson at E.O. Green Junior High School in Oxnard, California, in February 2008.
Another gay harassment lawsuit filed in Minnesota 16
10:28 AM — Another lawsuit has been filed against a school district in Minnesota, which has been accused of allowing homophobic bullying. Last month, a suit was filed on behalf of five students in the Anoka-Hennepin school district, where a number of LGBT teen suicides have been reported.
