About time this story was put up and this woman’s vision given the audience it deserves.
    Suran, we love you.

  2. Good for her. At least someone is doing something useful. Which is more than can be said for the morons (like me and you reading this and the people on that pink news chart like jock and stu and pepe etc.) who spend their time posting cr4p on pink news every day. She looks so happy in that photo, well her smile looks a bit fake to be honest.

Is she a lesbian creature? Looks like, unfortunately….

What does a lesbian “creature” look like, Rich? I’m curious, because all I see is an attractive middle aged woman, who’s sexuality I genuinely can’t guess. And really, does it matter? She is promoting a good cause – anything that reduces bullying (of any kind) and has the possibility of reducing the teen suicide rate has to be a good thing, surely.

Just to sate Rich’s curiosity, yes she is a lesbian – in a relationship with Rhona Cameron. Although, I had to do some google-fu to find out. But at the end of day, as I said before, as it’s for a good cause what does it matter?

Phoenix, good comment, but I am amused that you view Susan as “middle aged”! She’s not a teenager but she’s hardly middle-aged, surely.

Thanks – and well, I’m actually only 2 years her junior, but I have always considered “middle age” to be that significant gap between 30 and 55, although I am loathe to apply it to myself (mainly because I act like I’m 20 half the time lol). To me it indicates we are in the middle section of our lives, with the average lifespan in the 80 year range which is why I used it.

Good for Suran, she’s a good friend of ours and has said it was the death of Dominic that was the final straw that made her quit teaching and take this up full time. And Rich yes she is a lesbian, she’s also a rugby player and a New Zealander -which of those matters most to you?

  5. Remember the Government’s promise to tackle homophobic bullying?

The Coalition: our programme for government (pdf)

We will help schools tackle bullying in schools, especially homophobic bullying.

    White Paper -

Schools should take incidents of prejudice-based bullying especially seriously. It is important that they educate children about the differences between different groups of people and create a culture of respect and understanding.

But here’s what actually happened last month when Lord Collins (Labour) suggested an amendment to the Education Bill

  9. This idea is definitely worth of supporting. I’ve just donated £10. If thousands of people do the same, we can really change the world!
