I have the impression that ‘hazing’ is the army term for bullying and humiliation in the workplace, dressed up as some kind of character/ team building exercise or for purposes of discipline… a bit like PE for sadists. Sorry, scratch that – a bit like PE.
A while back when I had a summer job cleaning a local barracks, I found two privates being made to sweep the entire quad with a toothbrush. That’s at the milder end of the scale.
