11:44 PM — The White House has revealed that president Barack Obama is "proud to support" the Respect for Marriage Act, which aims to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act [sic], the federal ban on same sex marriage.
US government under-fire for study linking penis size to whether gay men ‘top’ or ‘bottom’ 89
8:14 PM — The United States government has come under fire for funding a study into how the size of a gay man's penis size effects his sex life and general well-being with particular focus on whether penis size results in the decision to be a 'top' or a 'bottom'.
George Michael calls Jeremy Clarkson ‘a pig-ugly homophobic twat’ 73
5:33 PM — George Michael has hit out at Top Gear host Jeremey Clarkson after the latter made a joke suggesting he was sexually promiscuous. Earlier this month, Michael tweeted a video of a man driving a pink Bentley and joked: "I swear this is real. And I sound like Jeremy Clarkson with someone's finger up his arse ... its a camp classic all round."
Gay conservatives GOProud want to meet Michele Bachmann 22
2:40 PM — US gay conservative group GOProud says it wants to meet Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann to discuss her anti-gay views. Mrs Bachmann, has said in the past that homosexuality is "slavery" and that gays are recruiting children. But since she began her presidential campaign, she has refused to talk about homosexuality.

2:05 PM — Coronation Street actor Charlie Condou is to be a dad again. The gay star, whose character Marcus Dent is also gay, is to have another baby with a friend, Catherine Kanter, who is the mother of his two-year-old daughter Georgia Mae.
BBC cuts Torchwood gay sex scene 142
12:21 PM — British Torchwood viewers won't see a raunchy gay sex scene because BBC bosses thought it was too explicit. The scene, with gay star John Barrowman's character Captain Jack Harkness and a barman, has already been broadcast in the US on cable channel Starz.
Stonewall names most gay-friendly universities 36
12:00 PM — Gay rights charity Stonewall has named the top universities for lesbian, gay and bisexual students. The online guide, Gay by Degree, tells potential students whether institutions offer services such as LGB student groups, compulsory staff training on LGB issues and careers advice aimed at LGB students.
Malaysian trans woman loses court case over gender change 5
11:22 AM — A Malaysian trans woman has lost her court case to legally change her sex. Ashraf Hafiz Abdul Aziz, 26, had sex reassignment surgery in 2008 in Thailand and hoped to obtain an identity card declaring she is female.
First out gay man confirmed as federal court judge 9
10:59 AM — The US Senate has confirmed the first out gay man to serve as a federal court judge. J Paul Oetken, 45, was last night voted on to the bench for the Federal District Court for the Southern District of New York.
