Pop star Pixie Lott is to headline next month’s Manchester Pride for the event’s 21st birthday.

The Mama Do singer will be supported by Blue and the Sugababes, while other acts include Patrick Wolf, Pam Ann, Soundgirl and Heather Peace.

Manchester Pride, which is one of the UK’s biggest gay celebrations, takes place between Friday 26th and Monday 30th August. Weekend tickets cost £20.

Festival director Jackie Crozier said: “We are over the moon that Pixie Lott will be headlining Manchester Pride this year. She is fresh, fun and talented – keeping very much in line with our Loud and Proud mantra for 2011.

“In addition to Pixie, the other acts we have just announced are all brilliant. We have a real range to the talent this year, all who represent the Best of British parade theme. We are definitely set for a very exciting 21st birthday party this year.”
