Aberdeen Pride organisers say they are confident the show will go on despite the main sponsor pulling out.

The event, due to be held on August 6th, was to be supported by Cheerz Bar, which promised to pay for headline acts Andy Scott-Lee and former X Factor contestant Scott Bruton.

STV reports that organiser Caz Scott said: “Unfortunately I received an email last week saying that Cheerz would not be supporting the event and would be pulling all of their acts.

“I met with four representatives from Cheerz Bar over the past couple of days but we were unable to resolve the problem.

“It is a minor hiccup and I’m going to take stock over the next couple of days, make a few phone calls and find replacements.”

But she added that the event would go ahead.

The festival will be the first Pride event held in Aberdeen in the last four years.
