Have there been charges – bail suggests yes, in which case we should not comment further on this case. Still no nature of the alleged offence given, I note.
Bail does not suggest charges. Bail can be given without charges – for a charge to occur, there needs to be a crime.
There can be bail subject to section 47(3) of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 which permits bail from police to allow further investigations to occur eg into a claim of alibi, forensics or to establish further facts.
This is the form of bail that GMP had difficulties with from a recent court judgement saying it should be restricted to 4 days only. Many of these cases either end up in no further action being taken against those arrested or it being determined there was no crime (as well as no action).
It was mentioned that the police suspect it to be natural causes which suggests that as the police continue to describe it as unexplained and not suspicious or a homicide that they would be surprised if this turns out to be anything other than natural causes.
Will be interesting to see if we find out the outcome … but no evidence to say a crime.
He died of natural causes, given he is in his late 40′s probably his heart of some form of brain aneurysm is the most likely to of caused his death..it happens all the time..If post mortem has stipulated natural causes then the police must release the two men from bail as no charges are answerable.
