Police have released the name of a man found dead on London’s Clapham Common.

He was named as Eric Anthony James, 49, of Lambeth.

Police were called to the popular gay cruising spot at 2.35am on Wednesday June 22nd after reports of a body being found.

His death is still being treated as unexplained but it is understood that Mr James most likely died of natural causes.

A post-mortem examination did not establish a formal cause of death and police are awaiting the results of further tests.

Two men in their forties were arrested and have been bailed to return in August.
