  1. “Last week, coach Eucharia Uche told the New York Times that since she was hired in 2009, she has eradicated homosexuality from the squad.”
She said it, she quoted it! hence hopefully “career over!” FIFA do your thing! now the shoe is on the other foot!

There is a campaign you can join aimed at FIFA here

In Nigeria culture, lesbianism is morally very wrong. Coach Uche is 100% right about homosexual disease in western world. FIFA please stay away from our coach on this issue

      …what a load of bollocks…
Homophobia only exists in ‘Nigerian Culture’ simply because of its colonial past – homophobia is no more ‘naturally’ Nigerian than HipHop, television & radio, computers or electric guitars.
To argue otherwise is a nonsense and (thankfully) FIFA has an obligation to stamp out discrimination (which is FAR more ‘morally very wrong’ than anything to do with who the female football team chose to be sexually intimate with!)
The whole ‘this is a western disease’ thing is getting really tired now – especially as it is HOMOPHOBIA which is the actual ‘Western disease’ – exported into its colonies back in the mid 1800s and now being upheld as a shining example of ‘traditional Nigerian beliefs’.
      Hopefully she will be sacked.

“Homophobia only exists in ‘Nigerian Culture’ simply because of its colonial past”

        Oh, give me a break.

Funny but I thought Nigera governed themselves and it’s pathetic to blame things from many, many years ago.
As most Nigerian’s would tell you they are quite capable of making up their own minds, their own laws etc.

Too keep blaming ‘it’s colonial past’ is just shifting the blame and making excuses for the Nigerians.
Still coming from you, why am I not surprised.

If other countries can improve Equality to the point of marriage then I don’t see your excuses working.

Funny how people blame ‘colonial pasts’ yet so many of those people from those countries want to immigrate to such country people like you continue to blame.

it’s pointless but them as I said coming from you, I’m not in the least surprised.

    2. I think you’re been too liberal with the word “culture” here, Alhaji Sac.

One assumes when you say ‘Western World’ you mean white people which would make you a racist!

    4. Dave North 4 Jul 2011, 11:30am

The day your country does something actually meaningful in this world other than soak up aid subsidies is the day we will listen to anything you have to say.

    5. Dear Ms or Mr Sad Sac:

I am American, 73, LESBIAN, white, and walked for civil rights in the 50’s and 60’s. I am a shocked and disgusted at the way many in the black world are so hate filled. Don’t you learn from history? The real disease is heterosexuality. It has spawned wife beaters, pedophiles, child molesters, sex trafficking, and the overwhelming number of child and adult killers. Get morals, get a (decent) life and get out of ours!
And FIFA, have the guts to send Uche packing!

  4. The homophobes in the Nigerian ‘losers’ team , will be on their way home very soon, back to their ‘divided’ country, probably to enjoy another massacre between the different ‘religious’ groups. So regular, so uncivilised! Thank you secular Germany and France for ramming it down the Nigerian’s ‘evil and nasty’ throats! Africa, the ‘HOMOPHOBE’ continent!

  5. Jock S. Trap 2 Jul 2011, 11:26am

The national team should have been banned until they accept Equality.
    End of!

    1. Agreed. That’s the only way to get the message through. But I’d also like the ill-informed coach to meet some LGBT people so that she realises her views are utterly wrong. Banning them without any education gives them no chance to amend their views or begin to understand how offensive and wrong they are.

  6. This from an organisation that supports Russia and Qatar,s world cups.

With all the curription and disgrace FIFA have allowed over the decades in the sport they are the last people who should be allowed to criticise.

I they cared about lgbt rights they wouldn’t of asked for bribes for votes and wouldn’t of given world cups the worlds biggest sporting event to two homophoic countries that offer no promise of improvement and Russia seems o be getting worse.

The Gay Worls should boycott fifa 100% These mild little talking to the coach acts are pointless

  7. peter duncan 4 Jul 2011, 8:48am

The Fifascists talking to the coach seems mild and pointless. The Gay world needs to give FIFA a 100% Boycott.

  8. I’d be more inclined to believe FIFA if they had kicked the Nigerian coach out of the competition. Watery statements are simply not enough, it’s time FIFA actually sttod up for something and took action!!!
