  3. Nothing to do with a divorce rate of more than 50% then? Let’s be honest, if they were serious about “protecting” marriage, they would have work on divorce reform. They didn’t. The whole concept of GLBTQ people doing damage when heteros don’t is a bloody lie. Simple as. Now the one thing to remember about Santorum is that he isn’t actually in government at the moment. His own state thinks that he is a tosser. He was defeated in 2006 and everyone knows that in the current crop of GOP candidates – evangelical wingnuts, no-hopers and novelty candidates – he is a total no-hoper. Anyone donating to his campaign should just flush their cash down the khazi.

From a man whose name sounds like a brand of panty liner…
Oddly enough the US is one of the few countries in modern times (before Gay LIb) that has redefined marriage- when it outlawed morman polygamy. Suffice to say they didnt say this reform “cheapened” it.
Wont someone just dress all these bell ends up as polar bears and let Sarah palin loose with a rifle, do the world a favour!

Good. Faith has no place in the 21st Century. The only place faith belongs is in history textbooks.

  10. Have right wing Christians managed to make marriage a successful institution … er no …

Is it cheapened by Las Vegas marriage conveyor belts … arguably …

Is incest, adultery and bigamy the preserve of LGBT communities – no, there are far more polygamous, adulturous and incestuous heterosexuals (in my experience) than LGBT people.

Is this republican homophobic – you betcha! Does he have the integrity to be a statesman and lead America – hell no.

Can we beat him? Yes we can

Politicians in US, and Uganda for that matter, using homophobia as a rallying cry are likely using it as a distraction from other issues.

The marriage issue is thinly disguised homophobia.

  12. The only people undermining religion are the ones like Rick Santorum, whose constant hate-filled, lying cr*p does more to turn people off religion than any LGBT person could ever do even if they wanted to.

  13. He ought to get his own filthy republican house in order. His fellow republicans Newt Gingrich, Rudy Giuliani (serial adulterers having married three times each); Senator David Vitter, also married with children, solicited prostitutes and was re-elected. They all have two things in common. 1) pro family values and 2) maintaining the sanctity of marriage. Hypocrisy anyone? Apparently, same-sex marriages harms children and their behaviour doesn’t? Santorum conveniently remains silent about that.

    Falling incomes
    Declining industrial base

Oh, no, people! Don’t look at all that! It’s all those fags getting it on and wanting to get married who spoil everything!

    > if the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual [gay] sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery.”
    .
It is up to elected parliaments to legislate whether to permit or restrict bigamy, polygamy or incest. There is no proper intellectual link to be drawn between them and homosexuality.
    .
European countries have had, for some time, civil marriage or civil partnerships laws. There is no clamour in those countries for laws permitting bigamy, polygamy or incest.

It is both sickening and telling that these sorts of people, religous bigots, feel so insecure in their “faith” that someone else getting married, someone else being equal, somehow “undermines” their faith. How lame is that? They certainly do NOT have much faith in their “faith’ as they would have us believe. So, equality under the law somehow makes them lose their “faith”? This is not reasonable, sensible or logical. UNLESS, they had no “faith” to begin with and were only talking the talk and not walking the walk. That would make them liars and hypocrites, wouldn’t it? Am I missing something here??? Oh, that’s right-they ARE liars and hypocrites!! NOW I get it!

Welcome back, noticed you haven’t been around for a few days – hope you are ok.

The thing is that all the republican candidates (that I have noticed so far) are incredibly uber-homophobic … not even a mild “I don’t approve of people being gay but hey they deserve rights I guess” which has happened before is even hitting the horizon.

Hopefully second term for Obama – even though he is not perfect

Yes I hope he gets a second term and things improve further, however I do worry that if he does leave to much unsolved, unfinished and the Republicans get back in they will turn things around and all those in the US will be back to square one.
        Hope I’m wrong though.

Yeah, I also worry that he might leave it too late, but I guess in the charged political culture of the US then his tactics to make advances are understandable, even if not as quick as we would like.

  30. Santorum is going nowhere and nor will the other parade of clowns running under the republican banner. Santorum rates only 4% support in the polls. There’s no way he has a chance of winning, let alone getting the nomination. Obama’s going to win probably with a smaller majority.

If a mans home is his castle, then Santorum’s home is a Sanitarium? His home for the insane, which he clearly has shown in his spouting off on insane subjects. And he has a crazy mans chance of winning and becoming the president of the USA.
