Ha ha ha. Hope when he gets out of jail that he has an arse like a clown’s pocket.

    1. Alf N. Spit 24 Jun 2011, 5:30pm

      Why?

      1. DJ Sheepiesheep 25 Jun 2011, 1:00am

So that he can produce an endless stream of brightly coloured hankies in order to entertain circus audiences!

        1. johnny33308 25 Jun 2011, 8:03pm

          ROTFLMFAO!!!!!
DJ Sheepiesheep, you are seriously funny! Loved your comment, MUCH!
          I almost wet meself!

  2. Wish he could spend a consecutive sentence for his incitement to murder.

  3. Sorry, but just what does him being homophobic have to do with him being convicted of drug offenses?Do the two always go hand in hand?! Or is The Pink so desperate for news at the moment that anything with even a tenuous link to the gay world is seen as newsworthy?!

    1. DJ Sheepiesheep 24 Jun 2011, 3:37pm

His being homophobic and being a drug dealer are indeed unrelated. The story of his conviction and sentence is however worth reporting on this site as it should make the LGBT community very, very happy. Sometimes, Fridays are really great!

    2. agreed. seemingly desperate. rather sad. but guessing all like-minded people need a place to gather.

    3. rightcharlie 24 Jun 2011, 4:36pm

erm, in prison men bum each other up the bot bot. no one ever admits it but it happens in most every cell…

  4. Jock S. Trap 24 Jun 2011, 3:06pm

    Excellent.
Shame they just couldn’t just lose the key permanently and never let him out.

    1. MAYBE he will “get it” in prison. A Shank might find its way in his neck.

  5. Well, I’m laughing and raising a glass to the Tampa federal court.

  6. what wonderful news – lets hope this drag dealer will be refused entry into the UK.

Im pleased Pink News have reported this news otherwise I for one would be none the wiser.

    gav

    1. Alf N. Spit 24 Jun 2011, 4:48pm

So that’s the gay connection, he’s a drag dealer.

      1. That made me laugh – funny typo.

  7. Poetic justic or what?! I am sure he will be getting plenty of the “Batty Boy” treatment inside. Made my day.

  8. coffee drinker 24 Jun 2011, 3:51pm

Maybe now Buju can write songs about gay sex in prison. His homophobic lyrics may turn around and bite him in the butt
, literally, Don’t drop the soap Buju, Boom bye bye !

  9. wow. your heading is insipid. shows lack of matruity.

he was 19 when that song was made. his lyrics newer song lyrics have matrured since then just like most of us.

whats the beef anyway. sticks and stones right? plus there has been songs like that before and after that one.

get a grip. dont judge least ye be judged.

    1. But he has still been spouting homophobic nonsense a lot more recently, so he hasn’t matured all that much.

      http://www.boxturtlebulletin.com/2011/06/23/34451#comments

      1. but singeling out this man. why. there are so many of them. why him?

        1. You’ve got to start with someone and tackle bigots one at a time. You can’t say we shouldn’t tackle bigots just because there are so many of them.

          1. DJ Sheepiesheep 24 Jun 2011, 4:31pm

If he’s really matured and realizes that the lyrics are offensive then why not get his record company to delete the song. The fact remains that for many impressionable people he is a role model, who by his words reinforces homophobic prejudice and encourages violence. When there are no more attacks on LBGT folk then we can ignore homophobic performers.

          2. way too simple of a reply. moveon.org people.

        2. Jock S. Trap 24 Jun 2011, 5:09pm

All ‘artists’ that promote the use of hatred in their lyrics should be ‘singled out’
          So why not him too.

        3. Who says we singled him out. He’s not the only dancehall act who does this type of thing, there was a similar campaign against Elephant man and a couple of others.
There was an attempt to do a similar boycott of Eminem, but franky his PR machine was too big at the time.
If you’d spent enough time on this site, you’d notice we don’t just single out one lone reggae singer. All anti-gay bigots in the public eye are fair game.

    2. Keith Lynwood 24 Jun 2011, 4:33pm

So age lets him write and broadcast homophobic lyrics, I will judge thank you very much. Don’t throw religious claptrap at me.

      1. why you so angry? you think I was specifically talking to you? jus chill and have a nice day.

        1. Alf N. Spit 24 Jun 2011, 4:52pm

Yes he’s a really nice guy and a great role model for young Jamaicans. It really couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.

          1. you think hes a great role model? guessing you would know. I just want to know why him. some said gotta start somewhere. as this will ever stop being an issue. there will always be bigots. as long as human being keep seperating ourselvs. black-white-male-female-etc.

didnt start with him a not going to end with him. still time dont fit the crime.

    3. burningworm 25 Jun 2011, 1:50pm

A song can not be erased by a record company;its called a catalogue.

The entire notion that a phrase in the mouth or hand of someone causes something to happen is victorian, outmoded and without any substantial empirical proof.

It is an art form. Whether the man is representing violence blindly or willingly is up to industry to decide. Why personalise the issue. Go after the company. Its a constant attack on the pawns of society whether they are known globally or not.

It lacks merit, substance and there will be a constant stream.

The structure, the prism, the elite, the people who’s names are out of newspapers. That is where our attention is needed not on a person who wrote something that may be more telling than ‘it gets better’ (for whom)…

  10. gas-chamber 24 Jun 2011, 5:05pm

    Black.
    .
    Again.

    1. Hodge Podge 24 Jun 2011, 5:16pm

      racism+ your name being “gas-chamber”, I’m guessing you’re a troll.

      0/10

      1. Alf N. Spit 24 Jun 2011, 5:33pm

He’s a troll sitting in a dark room suffering existential angst.

      2. gas-chamber 25 Jun 2011, 1:32pm

        Your mom.

I’m an evolutionist, and I can tell a separate species when I see it.

  11. Alf N. Spit 24 Jun 2011, 5:58pm

Rain, his time starts over every time he plays the song and tells people to commit murders and crimes against people just because they’re different.

  12. GayWebHosting 24 Jun 2011, 6:32pm

“Rain” Again, I find it incredible that anyone (on here) could find something….ANYTHING to defend about this man?

He is a homophobic bigot. He feels he has the right to write and publish songs that incite violence and murder against gay people so we have the RIGHT to call him out on it…

As for Pink News reporting this story…. Why not? It is NEWS to us that a notorious bigot has been sentenced to prison…

And what’s this drivel about “Still, time dont fit the crime”??? WHAT???

In one sense I would agree with you… 10 years is way TOO SHORT for a man who has been convicted of drug trafficking! Not only does this sad excuse for a human being feel his is in the position to preach to the youth that gay people should be brutally murdered, but he also feels entitled to traffic poisonous sh-t to them also… Drugs that can further damage and wreck lives…

I for one raise a cheer today that another evil enemy is off the streets for a very long time..

  13. It’s not really a gay-relevant news item strictly speaking and I’m a nice Quaker boy who doesn’t gloat but YIPPEEEE!! Can we get the prison authorities to make him listen to his own hate music 24/7? Well, maybe not. Nobody could be that cruel.

  14. leaving you all to have a good time celerating his denise 1 song from the 1 man.

just love everyone. there will or has come a time when all your loving relationships, fabulous careers, super friendships, and all those good deeds in life go out the door cause ya messed up 1 time. cheers.

    1. GayWebHosting 24 Jun 2011, 7:34pm

Sorry, I wasn’t aware he had gone to prison for “1 song from 1 man”? or for “messing up 1 time”?

I was under the impression he has gone to prison for dealing/pushing/trafficking drugs? The fact that he’s a homophobic bigot is merely a bonus! :-)

Again, why are you defnding this man? What are you? A ‘Fan’?

      1. now you want to ask me a question? this blog blows. silly. no good dialog here. ciao.

        1. GayWebHosting 24 Jun 2011, 8:05pm

No, not really. It was called irony. … and this is not a ‘blog’.
Sorry you had to go, but why so early? is it a school night?

          ‘Ciao’.

    2. One time? Really? I wasn’t aware that he only played the song once in public when he was drunk and thought better of getting it committed to disk in a recording studio to sell to his millions of fans.
Mel Gibson got less mileage out of his rants than that and he’s persona non gratia around Hollywood now.
You make it sound like some sort of Freudian slip.

    3. rain… blow it out your ear….

      1. Design For Life 25 Jun 2011, 2:50pm

I have never listened to any of his music, but I had the impression almost ALL of it was pro-violence in some\way and a lot of it homophobic. but even one song is one too many. If he couldn’t be jailed for being a homophobe, then being a disgusting drug dealer will do. And as for visiting the UK, well whoevr is in government in 2011 can slap a bar on him.

  15. Bad things happen to bad people.

  16. johnny33308 24 Jun 2011, 11:39pm

Here is the proof that Karma is a wicked b!tch. He so richly deserves all he gets. Hate-speech is not acceptable and this person uses it all the time. Any bigot anywhere at any time is a legitimate target-after all, all gays are their targets-and have been for hundreds of years-payback is just beginning. We may not be able to change their minds but we can surely make them pay for their many crimes against Our People.
Bigots tend to be bullies and cowards so if we frighten them, they will perhaps not bother us again.
How many innocent gay people have been murdered by him and his kind? TOO MANY!
