    1. Sarah Palin’s political action committee targeted Gabrielle Giffords, they drew rifle sight cross-hairs over democrats including Gabrielle Giffords on a campagn action map featured on Palin’s official website shortly before Gabrielle was shot for real.

Nice to see that Gabrielle is up and around and with a smile on her face,
Mother Nature has bigger plans for you Gabrielle; hold your head up high
And look the world in the eye

  4. I think both Gabrielle and the wider world will have lots of positives to focus on both completely seperate from and with connection to the horrific attempt on her life

  5. I also hope that she doesn’t plateau and continues to make a strong recovery. Although that smiles on her face means the world in itself and is a huge victory considering the extent of her injuries. You’re a beautiful person Gabrielle, inside and out.

  6. This is the first time I heard she was pro gay, the news people never said she was pro gay. No wonder she was shot, was the shooter a Christian?

If the schitzo who murdered those people and shot giffords spent any time on her website, per his ISP logs, she and her cronies should be tried for accessory before the fact to mass murder.

JUst as guilty as the guy who pulled the trigger.

Good to she she is making progress.

One thing about the article those:-
“Her office released the pictures on Facebook this weekend and a spokesman said she may be able to leave hospital in the last two months.”
    -
Now, is that the last two or the Next two?

  9. Gabrielle Giffords is a member of the Congressional LGBT Equality Caucus. She knew that she was under threat (although admittedly not by a young man who is severely mentally ill) as her offices had been vandalised a number of times. That she still went to her open meetings to meet and greet the voters was a sign of tremendous courage and a will to serve.

I hope that she continues to improve and feel well. That she survived was extraordinary enough, that she can walk and is making progress in expressing herself is nothing short of amazing. I have been cheering for her and will continue to do so.

As for the idiot Palin, who will never have an ounce of the strength or integrity of Congresswoman Giffords, that rifle sights map was grotesque. Did it cause Laughner to shoot Giffords? Doubtful. But it did raise the issue of the use of inflammatory/violent rhetoric in politics – it should never have been allowed. That the original SarahPAC site took it down the same day says a lot.

This is a sad story, but is it a gay story? There is no mention of the attack being a homophobic thing. Just because one of the victims happened to be a lesbian, doesnt make it a gay interest news article. If that were the case, what about the rest of the many incidents that happen to gay people everyday, that dont have any particular connection to their sexuality? This website would be over loaded with such stories.

    1. I get your comment – but there has been speculation that the assailant was homophobic and that this may have been part of the motivation – and thus I would suggest this may be reasonable seen as a gay story

  11. Go well, brave lady.

  12. “no obvious sign of injury”? Am I the only one to notice the dent in the side of her head and the fact that her left eye isn’t opened as far as her right?
