All relations should be cut off from a country that behaves like this. More than that, this is far worse than Libya, so why aren’t we taking similar action against them?
Only a few months ago a Libyan women accused the Libyan security services of abducting her off the street and raping her….We can only hope Amina Abdallah is not a victim of sexual violence or any kind of physical or psychological violence.
Aaah, the warriors of Allah strike again. If their hideous god existed, why couldn’t he do his own revenge work on homosexuals? Why does an all-powerful being need morons to do his bidding?
Another tragedy of the mindless manipulated masses. God is an invention to control the uneducated. History proves that ad infinitum, ad naseum….. And this is the usual result, the harming of the innocent by the stupid.
A disturbing story.
I hope she is found safe Very soon, she IS a very brave person and it doesn’t help that the country is very volatile at the moment while the majority fight for democracy.
Just for a second think what else would you expect from a country populated with militants and fanatics? If homosexuality is illegal then having a blog called ‘Gay Girl in Damascus’ is like a red flag to a bull for these idiots and yeah she’s put herself in jeopardy. Let’s see how quick the yanks are to get one of their own out in this situation.
Outrageous story that’s part of a wider outrage in Syria. Fingers crossed for Amina. But on Newsnight tonight it turned out that the photo is not Amina’s – it was ripped off from the facebook account of a London woman who was in the BBC studio. Loads iof media outlets ran the photo without wondering whether Amina would really have put her own photo on her blog given the likely response of the Syrian regime.

Because British and French oil interests are far more prominent in Libya and they quite likely brokered a deal with the rebel faction in that country.

I very much hope that she is OK. But, sadly, I fear for her.
