more importantly the thing which struck me was how the article is saying theyre ‘Gay Pride t-shirts’ but the t-shirt in the pic on the article only says ‘Old Navy Pride 2011′

They’re a business. Selling units is what they do. Any company rolling out new product does so in limited quantities so they can gage the market.
Pride has long been a commodified event. We buy into it — and I’m not saying that’s necessarily a bad thing. But you can’t blame the ‘whores’ without considering the “John’s” role in it.
