    Very disappointing.
I have problems the minute they start the “…could ‘encourage’”.
Yeah yet again we can’t have people being themselves.
Religious agenda is to force us all to be straight and have children regardless of who we are, regardless of how we are born, no choice, no option.
As if the planet doesn’t already have enough problems.

  8. And exactly what is so great about being straight? Aren’t they mostly straight men responsible for the world’s problems such as wars, famine, rape, prostitution, sex trafficking, terrorism in the middle east and elsewhere, political corruption, religious bigotry, rendition and torture of innocent people, the economic meltdown around the world, discrimination against LGBT people and in the case of Brazil, destruction of the rain forest and abject poverty in urban areas all across that country? These straights are the masters of hypocrisy, bigotry, corruption and exploitation, in fact they have a monopoly on it.

If the material was not appropriate then it is right that it is suspended.

Everyone on this forum seems to believe that people should be encourged to be gay, from the responses posted.

Children should not be taught about it, they should be left alone to find ther feelings, then if they require assistance, they should ask.

We do not need to teach people how to gay, gay people have far too may rights, and use the laws to their own advantage, this needs to be stopped, as this is not equality.

It is not disappointing nor is she a bigot, which is a very strong word to use against someone who has the duty and care of children.

No one is suggesting children should be taught how to be gay. Do you think people are taught how to be straight? Were you taught how to be the sexuality you are? Gay people do not have equal rights to heterosexuals, so if we have too many rights, what does that make straight rights. Or do you think that gay people should be unequal and not have as many rights? You’re a bigot. Just as she is.

lynn said “If you want to be equal, then don’t do different things” What an awful, boring, empty, joyless, artless, and ugly world that would be.
      - I fought with my feelings with little support or information and married a woman only to realize what a waste of both our lives that was.
      – “Too many rights” As a US citizen whose family has to pay almost $15,000.00 a year more in taxes than a straight family in a similar situation would when we often do not have enough to buy groceries I think I need a few more rights personally. – People like you do not have the good sense or decency to study history, learn the truth of the issues you engage, or consider the effect your words or actions have on the lives of real people. You are a destroyer, not a protector of children, you are just another ignorant monster with the blood of all those children who have committed suicide in their pain and confusion on your hands.

      Post a reply →
    4. You think you can be encouraged to be gay then? How interesting. If that were the case there wouldn’t be any gay people at all – all the straight sex education etc would have encouraged us all to be straight, right?
And it’s not just about children who are gay, it’s about ALL children. Equality education encourages children to understand that people can be different – gay, a different skin colour, etc – and that’s OK.
It’s a pity you don’t seem to have had access to such education else you’d realise that gay people don’t want to be treated specially, we just want to get on and live our lives like you want to, without nasty, ignorant bigotry and people depriving us of rights that you take for granted.

        Post a reply →
    5. And “far too many rights”? All we want is the same amount of rights as straight people. Now off I go to attempt to limit the rights of all heterosexual people because I’m personally not straight. Er…no, actually I would never dream of that and neither would any LGBT person. Nor would I try to stop straight sex ed or straight anything. If I suddenly got the urge to do that, I’d realise I had a problem with my own self-esteem.
As we don’t know what the objections were or what the material was like, we don’t know whether the material was appropriate or not, do we?
