Trouble is, this adds oxygen to the fire of this vile church

    1. just means every time they turn up they give money to charities noone actually listens to them and thinks that they’re doing any good. And anyone who hears about them through this who might agree with them won’t join them because they will know there just giving money to the gay charities might even stop them protesting if enough people start doing it.

I disagree Dan because the WBC is only reliant on stirring up hatred and being attacked so they can sue those attackers and make money.
They clearly got more than they bargined for and it shows on the faces of those nasty protesters.
Rather than get the violent reaction they hoped for they got pretty much laughed at and it is all they deserve.
I think this tactic should be rolled out towards this Church as there money would hopefully dry up and they vanish.
Sadly though they will keep trying.

Excellent to watch and proves no-one needs to sink to their level of hate to make a protest and a point.
    Good on Lisa Lampanelli!!
It must have really disappointed the WBC that they didn’t get the reaction they wanted.

    Well done this lady.

Turning something purely vile and negative into something positive and helpful. Rather kicks them between the legs knowing that the more they turn up, the more they actually help the gay community…

    Irony is thy name…

Whilst on the topic of homophobes inadvertantly showing their support, here’s a hilarious news article from Afghanistan about an outbreak of rainbow flags divorced from their original context!

    1. Prophets? Like Harold Camping? Yeah, nothing like a few rapture “fcukups” to get the mind thinking.

What are Fred Phelps and the WBC afraid of anyhow? Rainbows? Unicorns? A flaming pink queer apocalypse? I attempted to address this with a portrait of the good reverend on my artist’s blog at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2011/03/fred-phelps-and-westboro-baptist-church.html Drop in and let me know what you think!

    1. She donated US$50,000. I’m guessing the difference is the conversion to UK pounds.

  18. The article was a trifle odd – mentioning that “Lampanelli isn’t Jewish” just because these self-made subhuman slimebags came w/a sign that said “Jews Killed Jesus”? Well, she’s not gay, either! These horrible creatures strike out in all directions to stir up as much hate as they can – hoping they will be physically attacked so they can sue. It’s their *only* visible means of support!

That said – well done, Ms. Lampanelli – we need more like you & less like them!

    Post a reply →
    1. Quite, and I’m always struck by the surreal historical ignorance of fundamentalists. A provincial Roman governor killed Jesus – Nationalist Jews were prone to insurrections during Passover and Pilate just couldn’t take the risk that Jesus might lead one.

      Post a reply →
  19. I love the WBC, they show the world what fundamentalism is really about.. a lot of very stupid people and a charismatic (deranged) leader. Sadly there is still no cure for stupid though education and a more mixed gene pool help considerably. Notice that they use a lot of children in their protests, I suspect there is must be a high attrition rate when they finally grow up and realize that their leader has a lower IQ than they do (less than their pets even) and is really a self loathing, closeted sociopath. Well done Lisa, we love you.

  20. Very very sad that it appeared there were more children ‘protesting’ in that clip than adults. It just shows how sick WBC really is.
