An excellent proposal and I hope they do get it through.
It’s typical of the Republicans to try to stop this though.
It seems the Republican Party are usually the ones who start wars and a great believer in trying to make the world see them flex there muscles.
It’s just a shame they are also the most disrespectful Party who have no regard for those they expect to do the muscle flexing.

  2. If it happens they be the usual 10 – 20 years behind a lot of others.
A same sex couple that I know of in the Royal Navy have enjoyed the same rights as their duo sex colleagues for years.

    1. True, the US forces seem to be surprisingly unaware of their Western European counterparts’ rights in such matters. Still, better late than never, I suppose.

  3. Brilliant, I hope it is done.
Apart from anything else, straight servicepeople will have their awareness hugely raised by seeing colleagues just like them plighting their troth to someone of the same sex.

  4. FCK YOU BIGOT PARTY GET OVER IT

  5. Hope this goes through

What is interesting is that this involves chaplains! Could not get that in the UK, I believe, as civil partnership law prevents any religious component.

  7. This is premature – for the last 2 days, Christian extremists, Family Research Council have lobbied hard at the Pentagon, which has just revoked this. It’s time the gay community took its fight to the doors of the FRC, which is the centre of all the hate.

  8. it is a sexual preference, not an ethnicity, why open that can of worms? a lot of dif sexual preferences out there.

  9. very inspiring proposal
