Already, millions of dollars are pouring into New York to stop marriage equality from happening. That disgusting National Organization for Marriage (NOM) has donated $1.5 million already, so disgusting. My only fear is that same organisation will try to use its influence in our own country or lend financial support to the anti-gay groups like the “christian mothers” among others.
From what I read of the first introduction of the bill in 2009, it was defeated by 8 conservative democrats, no republicans voted for it but some will be needed to make it a reality. I just don’t see it happening. American conservatives are very different to our own, hardly progressive.

A good, positive move.
