  1. If I was Elton I would talk about this with my partner and not to the media.
How does the media get stories like this?
I can only assume it’s part of the self promotion system.
This isn’t of any concern to the public.

  2. “Sir Elton and his husband David Furnish became parents…” Funny, isn’t it, what political correctness can achieve!

    1. Poofter

      1. Is massive a declaration of wish fullfillment?

Funnily enough whilst i ain’t particularly bovvered by this story I feel better about Sir Elton and his husband David Furnish becoming parents than I do you Massive and your bigotted view being around children.

    3. Still hanging round gay sites, I see, Massive. All these tempting men, eh? ;)

    4. massive, its money not PC you silly c*nt

  3. Dosent using phrases like reportedly and a friend or source mean the journalist is making it up?

Im not their greatest fan butthis article stinks of anti gay attitudes the mail would be proud

    *yawn*

  5. Ian, he and his partner did an interview with America’s Barbara Walters in which they said they were going to do it, but really, who cares? Why is this news-worthy?

    1. Thanks Robert.
So it is just part of the self promotion machine then.

  6. This should read “biological father” rather than “real father”. They are both the real fathers. Writer needs to research the proper terms for this situation.

    1. My thought too, Jm. The ‘real’ father sounds offensive.

    2. That’s EXACTLY what I came here to say!

But what should we expect from a site that continues to use the term “gay marriage”?

I;m surprised PinkNews doesn’t still speak of “sexual preference” and “gay cancer” and “alternative lifestyle”!

    3. Ditto again. Pink news is the last place I expected to find such a thoughtless phrase.

  7. Can’t they just wait and see if its hair grows.

    Simples.

  8. If there is a genuine medical reason to do this, then it makes sense to me I suppose. Although it is equally fair to say that there are many adopted or single-parent children who don’t necessarily have access to full medical histories. Is that a bad thing? I don’t know, ask parents and ask doctors but don’t waste your breath asking the media.

As for why this is a story? Well, sometimes it makes sense – if you are the famous sort of person – to control the message by controlling the story yourself. If it was not leaked then some pap rat would find out and have a glorious time smearing the story to serve the agenda of which ever paper buys it – the Guardian might have a column on the legal implications of surrogacy and the Daily Heil would sharpen their daggers. With that in mind, it makes sense to fire first.

  9. Medical schmedical. If the kid has a face like a slapped @rse then Elton isn’t firing blanks.

  10. *facedesk*

Why?! The point of adopting a child is that YOU are it’s real parent! The people who provide the sperm and egg are not significant. It’s the people who provide the love and nurture to the child.

Not that I expect the poor child to receive anything that isn’t directly related to getting Elton more publicity, of course. Poor thing.

  11. In any case this narcotically psychotic person should never be permitted to adopt the child!

    1. Severe projection, Rich. Take a pill.

Could save the money and check the length of the fingers and/or whether it looks like a chipmunk.

    1. Jealous are we?

  13. I love Elton John. He is a beautiful person who makes beautiful music. Congrats on your life Elton! Be Happy!
    One Love!
