The star, who used to date Marilyn Manson, told Esquire magazine that she prefers to take the lead when dating women.
She said: “I’m more of like the guy when it comes to girls. I’m the dominant one. I’m opening the doors, I’m buying dinner. Yeah, I’m romantic.
“I’m up for anything. Meet a nice guy, meet a nice girl.”
Explaining her relationship with goth rocker Manson, Wood said: “I was always into very androgynous things. Guys, girls…I’m into androgyny in general.
“I think one of the things that freaked people out so much is that we looked so different.”
In 2007, the actress said: “I’m not a lesbian, but I don’t think it’s weird or gross or anything. I definitely appreciate women and there have been times where I have been attracted to a woman.”
Wood, who plays lesbian vampire Sophie-Anne in True Blood, is not the only star of the show to come out.
Anna Paquin, who plays Sookie in the show, announced she was bisexual last year.
