I guess it’s one thing going into a Party and hoping to change it’s outlook. Of course if you get such a Party that has absolutely no interest in change your basically flogging a dead horse.
Here’s hoping Alan Simpson can now focus on doing good for Equal rights from outside the Party.

Im sure there are more republicans (probably not loads but some) who feel the same way, however they dont want to lose their enormous donations from “christian” groups and the Teabag Party. Money talks in politics sadly…
Must admit I thought that at first but this sounds more like frustration at not being listened to. They clearly have no interest in progressing Gay rights which is a bit of a worry for all LGBTQ Americans but lets hope he can make a difference in another role.

Never understood the mindset of the log-cabin Republican. It’s one thing to hope you can gain the GOP’s respect, but by any stretch of the imagination you’ve got an uphill task on your hands.
When stirring up opposition to gay marriage isn’t merely a glitch but a unique selling point, and pandering to grassroots evangelical homophobes is the done thing expecting them to completely overhaul their policies just because you’re joining a club that doesn’t want you as a member is a tad optimistic.
You might as well get a job with the Pope!
