  1. Where were all the other party-goers during this? Too busy partying to notice? Surely that many people could have intervened, even against somebody wielding a pipe.

erm hate to say it but my money’s on recording it using their mobile phones.

I really hope I’m wrong but after helping out in a couple of incidents here and seeing people just stand with their camera phones in the air I think the voyeur has taken a very dark and twisted turn.

However I do also recognise the need for evidence.

  2. He’d left the party, so was presumably alone with his friend.

Sometimes, I wonder if it’s ever going to end. We being viewed almost as a sub-species.

It’s not an isolated incident. It has simply made headlines because the victim died.

@ Adam…It will not end while religion exists or at least keep ranting it’s sick homophobic message .I’m betting these four thugs were christian, probably Roman Catholic, as their names and geographic address’ would indicate they were Hispanic. I may be wrong but Hispanic agression using homophobic and domestic abuse is rife amongst this group in New York City and has been for the last 50 years.

  3. This is terrible. Absolutely terrible.

  4. What kind of sub-human people would do a thing like this? Disgusting – and such a sad waste of life.

  5. Beat the ones who did it to death. An ete for an eye.

..which would make us as bad as them. Call me old fashioned but id rather keep the moral high ground here. Horrible that they were so young as well, got to be a case for charging the parents surely..

    1. Whilst the parents have some influence it’s not a simple matter of GAGO (garbage in garbage out) as it is with computers. Peer pressure has something to do with it as well as all kinds of other factors. It must be difficult cutting it as a homophobe when your neighbourhood is called “Queens”.
At some stage they have to start taking responsibility for their own bigotry and IMO the earlier the better. Charging the parents won’t teach these punks to be better people.

Another horrifying story showing inrance and clearly uneducated people.

In 2011 this despictable behaviour, such hate and intolerance and too many times we are used as an excuse for haters to vent.

    1. Jock S. Trap 16 Mar 2011, 4:31pm

‘showing intolerance and clearly… that should have read.

      1. Staircase2 16 Mar 2011, 7:03pm

        Good on yer!
…I look forward to seeing you yourself show tolerance and education from now on then Mr Strap! ;o)

        1. Jock S. Trap 17 Mar 2011, 9:06am

Only intolerant of idiots. Theres a couple on here.

  8. My heart goes out to this young man’s family. I’m a pretty tolerant person, don’t always agree with the ‘eye for an eye’ thing. But in a case like this, where we’re not dealing with human beings – but savages! – they should be made an example of. Hopefully the NY authorities and justice system will work and these pieces of s**t will SUFFER for the rest of their sorry ass, no good lives!

  9. Steve@GayWebHosting 16 Mar 2011, 8:18pm

Yes, a very sad thing to still be happening in 2011. Mindless brain-dead scumbags must be made an example of for this..

    1. lakencouchh 16 Mar 2011, 9:20pm

i agree. we’re all the same, maybe not on the outside, but we all have a heart ya know? but people like this have no heart. they just can’t accept the fact that everyone is different. it’s sickening to even think about. it’s no one’s business if someone is gay, bi, or straight!! on another note, they probably didn’t even know him and judged him for “being there” and targeted him. as i said before, it’s sickening and they deserve every consequence they’re getting. they have to live for the rest of their lives knowing they killed an innocent person who did nothing to deserve that!!

  10. Where is the world coming to where a guy can’t have fun without fatal consequences? Gays aren’t whats tearing the world apart. Its bigoted heterosexuals.

  11. The Christians killed him with their hate, the Catholics, Mormons and Evangelicia Christians who spend millions on their Christian Hate groups who stop gay marriage.

45 partiers let five teenagers terrorize them like that? I might be more queer than a three-dollar bill, but that doesn’t mean I’m such a sissy that I’d pas up on a chance to kick some homophobic ass at NINE TO ONE ODDS! What were they serving at that party, anyway, CHICKEN?

    1. Paddyswurds 17 Mar 2011, 12:20am

Where were the dudes in the bovver boots and shaved heads that nite i wonder.Or is the whole thing just for show and they are really just a bunch of sissys and drag queens in reality. 5 against 45 …it beggars belief they just stood there like a bunch of dime store mannequinns and aparrantly quite a few of them had their phone up in the air recording the whole thing. No wonder the whole world is against us and abusing us at every turn round. Mean while in this country we have gay people wanting to join with right wing facists who are just the British equivelant of these animals.

      1. As has been pointed out above, the poor boy had left the party itself.

And while you’re disparaging drag queens, you might want to consider that the original Stonewall Riot occurred because drag queens refused to be intimidated and fought back.

  13. Not that it does this victim (and others) any good but at least LGBT’ers are protected under N.Y. law:

The Sexual Orientation Non-Discrimination Act (“SONDA”)

In other jurisdictions there is no sexual minorities rights protection at all:

    1. That protection isnt worth sh*t

      do something useful and donate

  14. even in iran they do it with more respect ..
