Lady Gaga says she has raised $250,000 in just 48 hours for victims of Japan’s hurricane and tsunami.

The bisexual singer has been selling $5 ‘prayer bracelets’ of her own design on her official website.

The bands, which Gaga has been promoting to her nine million Twitter followers, are red and white with characters in English and Japanese.

She has not yet said which charity will receive the money but announced on Twitter earlier that funds had hit the quarter of a million mark.
