Certainly a positive step and a difficult for those dinosaurs within the sport but will be lean to see the result in a couple of years time.

  2. Does the FA know they’ve signed this charter. It’s not yet on the ‘Latest News’ section of their website.

    about bloody time too!
the last bastian of accepted institutional homophobia

  4. Well, they’ve taken the first small step. I wonder how many decades it’ll be before they feel enough pressure to take the second one.

Thank You to everyone supporting this charter. It cannot be understated how important this is to those thousands of LGBT people living in isolated communities or lonely in our big cities, fearful of hate crime. The message is loud and clear that the sports world is making an unprecedented difference to improve the lives of all by chasing away homophobia. I was overwhelmed on Sunday by the commitment from everyone at the Sheffield Eagles rugby match that stood up to wipe homophobia out of sport, if we think this did not make a difference then all we need do is read the papers where we see equality has taken a massive leap forward. This can only go one way, the correct way, saying the time has come for it not to be OK to hate or exclude our sisters or brothers. I have never been more proud of our country’s major sports than today, reading how they line up to put their weight behind this important charter. Let us now take the message global and beyond sport until all people are safe.

  6. Good for them, God bless them. They are on the right track.
