  1. Oh Sophia2030, you sound just darlin! I would love to be your fag bangle. I’m so sweet, you could dip me in coffee.

  2. This is practically a re-post, taken from the original post about gaga partnering with Target. I have two things to say: writers on this site need to be less lazy, and actually write articles instead of writing the first few lines, then they copy and paste an entire past article. Second, it would be great to come on this site, and gaga’s dick not be inside the publishers mouth. This site is so one-sided and bias, ITS REDICULOUS. Stop being 14yo girls and become men…. PLEASE…

  3. Is this site a Lady Gaga fan club or something? It seems like you just post articles to give her exposure. She partnered with them knowing they contribute to anti-gay groups. She backed up because me and other posters and gay people are beginning to see through her facade. Pure marketing, theres nothing really noble about what she did, she did this because of pressure from fans….

    1. Actually, she made a deal with them on the agreement that they would stop.

While I agree that there are too many articles devoted to her, I don’t think it’s fair to say that this is purely marketing, when so much of what she speaks out about is gay rights/acceptance.

If you don’t like her, don’t read articles about her, don’t listen to her music, but don’t criticise her because she’s using her fame to spread the message of LGBT acceptance.

  4. Hire a proof reader; there are several errors.

Don’t just give up and press ‘send’.

Not surprised by the turnaround. Just surprised by the naivite (hubris?) of Gaga and her people in thinking she could change the policies of a corporation like that with the threat of pulling one of her records.

    1. Whether the deal lasted long or not, Target still contributed to gay charities and now they’ve lost the special arrangement they had with Gaga.

You gotta admire her for trying, not many would put their reputation before money or campaign so tirelessly for gay rights.

What was the point of that last sentence? Born This Way being ‘the new gay anthem’ has nothing to do with her deal with Target. What, do you think that by repeating that line often enough everyone will believe it and start calling it that?

  7. Jock S. Trap 9 Mar 2011, 8:36am

Clearly the Target group saw it more as a way of attracting media attention only with no plans to help gay charties and groups.

    Absolutely disgusting.

Why oh why when we hear a story about Lady GaGa’s single Born This Way do we have to be reminded Everytime that the single has been described by Elton John as the “new gay anthem”?

We get it but do we have to be reminded everytime?

    1. Bollocks aint it. My anthem is Cee lo fcuk you

“Is this site a Lady Gaga fan club or something? It seems like you just post articles to give her exposure.”

Indeed. Perish the thought that we might actually want to ´big-up´ one of our own?

Surely better to do what we gays usually do and back-bite and bitch about everyone and everything…. (even our friends!)

Her heart was in the right place, trying to change a large company. Unfortunately, it didn’t work. It’s Target’s loss though. Not only have they lost her support and a good business deal, but they have also (hopefully) lost a sizeable amount of current and potential customers.

  10. Re: “That discussion was one of the most intense conversations I’ve ever had in a business meeting,” Lady Gaga said at the time….now I’ve seen the silly tart in plenty of TV interviews and she can’t string a f…king sentence together at the best of times so one must assume the ‘intenseness’ came from trying to get her to speak in a coherent and articulate way.

  11. Gaga using gays for cheap publicity is disgusting.

    1. Jock S. Trap 9 Mar 2011, 11:38am

Some people are never happy with support.

Having said that the Fact the song and the woman are doing well suggests your opinion is in a minority.

No.1 in the states, Going top 3 here suggests society is far more accepting than people like you think. Has it occured to you that ‘cheap publicity’ may actually be doing some good?

    2. Because she’s famous, and therefore unable to be an activist?

      1. Jock S. Trap 9 Mar 2011, 12:35pm

I think that sums it up perfectly weetzie!

  12. There is something very wrong with our “community” if we can’t recognise an ally when we see one.

Get some perspective; we have enough actual enemies without turning on our own supporters out of spite.

    1. Agreed! Who cares how rich and powerful or what their underlying motives are if there are any at all? So long as people like her, who have a lot of influence, are advancing gay rights and awareness of gay rights it can only be a good thing

    2. Agreed.

Too many bitchy queens who seem to like having no rolemodels and still having to face homophobia.

Grow up and if you yourself have done nothing for gay rights, then don’t attack the Gaga, she’s better than madonna and actually promoting gay rights, something your blonde, muscly has-been only did a couple times.

  13. Where is the news here?

    Where are the details?

This is just a copied article … We knew all this. Who has been funded?

Obvious they never planned to keep this promise. Target dnt care about lgbt people … They only offer $500,000 and that was a battle to get.

I feel sorry for gaga she tried to help target with it’s bad PR and they shot themselves.

  14. This is incredibly bad journalism on the part of James Park.

Why is there no reference to the fact that Target continues to finance homophobic political candidates?

  15. Tigra 07…us bitchy queens? You’re the person calling Madonna a ”blonde, muscly has-been”. Fair enough if you don’t have capacity for individual thinking and instead swallow everything the corporate vessel that is Lady Gaga pours in your ear. Gimp.

    1. Okay then, say for one minute she is a corporate vessel and she’s still done more for gay rights than you or madonna.

Use your brain, i personally don’t like Elton John but i can still show respect for some of the good work hes done over the world and for gay rights.

      1. How do you know what I have or haven’t done for gay rights or other minorities rights for that matter you f…king imbecile.

        1. Because you haven’t done as much as or more than Lady Gaga or Elton John or we’d have heard of you you arrogant pr.ck.

  16. My understanding is that Lady Gaga terminated the deal, because Target did not meet their sales forecast for her merchandise. And Target will not deny it, because they would prefer to be seen as insufficiently gay-sympathetic (rather than inefficient sales people).

  17. Proud Gay Canadian 10 Mar 2011, 1:21am

I simply cannot believe that we cannot tolerate success and an activist going hand in hand ! Why must we belittle and bicker so much amongst ourselves ? It helps no one in the LGBT community to act in such a destructive manner !!!!

    1. Because there’s a lot of bitchy gay people who will complain they face prejudice and discrimination and then attack people like Elton John or Lady Gaga for no sane reason.

  18. fcuk off

  19. We’re not exactly your target audience you scabby troll!
