5:21 PM — The US state of Maryland's House of Delegates began debate on a gay marriage bill today. The bill, to give gay couples marriage equality, has already been passed by the Senate.

5:10 PM — Lady Gaga's publicist has confirmed that she and US retailer Target have ended an exclusivity deal. Yesterday, it was reported that the star had pulled out after the company allegedly continued its policy of donating to political causes linked to anti-gay views.
