A man punched his girlfriend’s gay friend after the latter claimed that he was gay, a court heard.

Lee Parr, 31, of Lincoln, attacked gay man Allan Binns after Mr Binns claimed he had performed a sex act on him, the Lincolnshire Echo reports.

Mr Binns made the claim to Parr’s girlfriend shortly before the attack on November 11th last year.

Parr then went to Binns’ house and hit him, causing minor injuries.

He admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm and his solicitor said in court he had split up with his girlfriend.

Lloyd Edward, for Parr, said:”Mr Binns made the extraordinary claim that he had sex with Mr Parr.

“That allegation is completely untrue. It was made to cause trouble between Mr Parr and his girlfriend and it seems he has achieved exactly that.”

The court also heard that Mr Binns had sent text messages to Parr’s girlfriend, telling her to dump him.

Mr Binns’ solicitor said his client believed he had been the victim of a homophobic attack and was now frightened in his own home.

Parr will be sentenced on April 1st.
