No it wasn’t Pink News. The first “Official” yes, but not the first. The last Liverpool Pride was 1995, but there were Prides in the city in 1979 (one of the first in the UK), and 1990-1992 that I know of. Despite what some people say, Liverpool has always a thriving gay presence.

The Council gave over £100,000 to religious groups last January alone. So I don’t see why not they can support the gay community?
