  1. A forum for LGBT Jews???? For a second I was reading to see if the words “for a small fee we can provide you with the relevant information…..” appeared in the text.

  2. Just what the world needs. Another ‘committee’ of people doing nothing much. Yet more lumping together of ‘gay’ people with ‘trans’ people (what exactly is the common ground?). Another logo, press release and vague pressure group.

Is there an actual need for this group, except to make some people feel important?

    Spanner: Racial stereotypes much?

  4. theotherone:
Not me I’m afraid. Probably James! being an asswipe as usual.

  5. Not overly sure why it’s a “first”… I’ve been a member of the Jewish Group for decades, and fondly remember going to many Jewish LGBT conventions in the 80s/90s, best of which was in Israel in 92, held at the Kibbutz Movement’s HQ. But at least I’ve learnt the word for rainbow in Hebrew (Ivrit), you never know when that will come in useful!

good thing spanner – you wouldn’t me opening a box of Matzos in your direction ;-)

  7. Good for them.

I hope they will be successful in their aims.

I hope they will also work hard fighting and condemning the homophobic bigotry that is promoted in in some orthodox synagogues (just because their ‘god’ allows it doesn’t excuse or justify it.)

  8. I dont care who spanner is, or if someone is pretending to be someone else, I have reported the racist comment – just not funny.

  9. Thanks Dave. Then I get the can for somebody else’s cowardly act.

    Congratulations Rabbi Mitchell.

I sincerely hope you and your team will achieve your goals, and that we will hear from you from time to time.

  11. The comments on this article expose some attitude problems in the readers of Pink News. Are these the people who complain of discrimination?

Trans-gender people are accepted in all groups where sexuality has been the cause of prejudice and pain, instead of being celebrated. Therefore the LGBT anagram is accepted through out the civilised world. What is the reason to exclude and discriminate against one group ?

I would enjoy a Jewish Forum

  13. Good for them! Congrats and thanks for sharing :)
