Trans woman to stand trial over death of trans lawyer

A trans woman from Cricklewood is to stand trial in July over the death of lawyer and trans woman Sonia Burgess.

Nina Kanagasingham, 34, is accused of Ms Burgess’ murder and will appear at the Old Bailey on July 18th.

She is currently on remand in a men’s prison.

Ms Burgess, a lawyer, died at Kings Cross Underground Station in October.

Known professionally as David, she was a respected human rights lawyer who was described as a “trailblazer” in her field.
