The whole of South America accounts for around 50% of known trans murders each year, if you add in the USA its around 70% of the total deaths :(

  2. I have hardly any words for how horrible this is. The Honduran government really needs to take action to investigate these murders and prevent further crimes against trans people.

Shockingly sad news. This leaves a sick feeling in the pit of my stomoch. There are far, far to many places around the world where trans people are not protected by the law.
I hope that trans people living in Honduras soon get the protection they not only need but also deserve.

I had not heard the details, but Obama’s speech on Kato’s death in Uganda mentioned 3 LGBT deaths in Honduras as well…. so these are what he and the UN were referring to.

Shocking and horrible. Helen’s stats are also chilling.

  5. And cheap shots on Saturday Night Live are not going to help improve the situation. The statistics are horrifying, and the sketch is disgusting.

Honduras is prob very catholic. the pope in his 2008 Xmas message said…….. transpeople will result in the end of hte human race.

its time to declare war on the vatican. Just thiikn of this evil institution as the reichstag in 1935.

And just how many lives would be saved if the pope were sent on a logn lead based vacation.

  7. i know i have just found this and it is 6 months ago my hart gos out to the family and friends of them poor girls. yes its about time that honduras govement got of its ass and did something to STOP all hate towards the lgbt allpeople
