I am quite certain there was a concerted attempt to both follow by phone bugging the royal family, in particular Charles and Diana, and certain prominent politicians, for example those suspected of being gay or out as gay. My instinct is this was done by the press, possibly the News of the World, but it might have been a dirty tricks department, Watergate-style, associated with the Conservative Party, which knows few depths. I have no facts on which to base this belief.

  2. Hmmm unsure as to why his sexuality would be linked to this story. Does it really matter whether he’s gay or straight if he’s had his phone tapped.
