Well, he did in that he became out and actively gay later on. It depends on whether you are using gay in terms of someone’s intrinsic self or in terms of behaviour and lifestyle. If he didn’t know when he was dating Tiffany that he was gay, then he perhaps can be said not to have been gay then. Of course, he may have known but not admitted it (even to himself). But in terms of behaviour, it is correct to say that he became gay later on.
I have always just loved him & thought he was the ‘hottest’ one of NKOTB- I used to stare at the posters on my wall & fantasize about our life together.
Am I the only person who’s bothered by straight people who still use terminology like “he became gay”…? That only perpetuates the myth that it’s a choice. Just one more reason for me to hate the untalented hack named Tiffany. Her rival back in the 80′s, Debbie Gibson, has always been much more gay-friendly. A true class act. Well, except for the B-grade monster movies she does now! It sure was fun though to see Debbie whooping Tiffany’s overweight lard butt on the SyFy channel the other night!
