  1. What’s his game?

Elton John thinks we should be satisfied with civil partnership apartheid?

Or is he merely trying to restore his reputation which was destroyed when he whored himself out as the weddiing singer to disgusting bigot Rush Limbaugh?

  2. Either way he’s raised some money for something which should already be allowed.

  3. He’s raising money for something he doesn’t even believe in.

    What an opportunistic idiot.

  4. I wish people would stop assuming they know what other people think or believe in. He’s done a great job raising money for marriage equality. That’s all we really know.

  5. I bet as soon as we have marriage equality Elton & David will be trading in their civil partnership for marriage.

Anyway Elton certainly seems to be cooking on gas lately, great stuff.

The more places marriage equality is recognised the more likely it is that others will achieve same.

    I agree fully.

    But let’s deal with facts.

Reg Dwight has specifically said that gay people should be satisfied with civil partnership apartheid.

  7. Elton did say that he was satisfied with civil partnership but as he is raiising money for the marriage equality fight in California then clearly he isn’t letting his own opinions stop him from helping other gay men and lesbian women achieve what will satisfy them.
He’s apparently putting his money where his mouth isn’t yet.

  8. Great news!

Would be really nice if he actually explained his views on gay marriage, have they changed? Is he for marriage for all but like many in the UK would want to stick with his own CP etc…

I think it’s important that he comes out for marriage/cp equality in the uk…he, like many others, are used so many times (I think Ben Summerskill has used star names also??) as gay people who only think civil unions should be given to us because it makes us somehow unique…

I think this concernt shows Elton may think differently…

  9. “Reg Dwight has specifically said that gay people should be satisfied with civil partnership apartheid.”

He’s clearly moved on since then as should we all.

  10. Thank you, E.J. for your generous contribution – and for using Rush’s money for your AIDS foundation.
Love from California, home of Prop 8.
    Fight on.

Yes, thanks EJ for all you have done.. (far more than a lot of your ´critics´ here, thats for certain!)

A person is allowed to change his mind? Whateverm he is putting his money up front to help the cause of others..

(As indeed he did with his recent donation which will enable the charity feeding people living with AIDS to operate and plan for the next three years… reaching even more people).

    Well done EJ.

$3 is a lot to help such a cause.

I am sure the UK efforts for Gay Marriage could do with the same help…..

George Michael concert to help the Equal Love Cam Campaign ??

Surely someone can ask George when he’s next on the Heath ?

  13. “Reg Dwight has specifically said that gay people should be satisfied with civil partnership apartheid.”

The Dwight is NO his name. He changed it legally, Elton John is not just a stage name.

Anyway, its a good thing that he is doing. Lay off him. Xx
