The UUP is in alliance with the Tory Party in Britain.
Has Tom Elliott reversed his position on attending a GAA match or a gay pride parade?
if not then when is the allance between the UUP and the Tories to be severed.
Surely David Cameron does not want the Tory Party to be linked to a gang of sectarian homophobes like the UUP?
I agree with you and it will be interesting to get the feedback (especially the informal) from the meeting.
I heard PA on the Nolan show this morning and was glad to hear him being his usual impish self and I hope we also take a firm stand with Elliot.
I don’t care about their link with the Tories as much as I want to know how the UUP position themselves on Gay Rights here, especially in devolved matters. I think the link is more of a peripheral influence.
More important to him at the moment is the assembly elections and how he performs at this meeting should determine whether the gay unionists will tend more to Alliance than UUP (not sure if he could turn many gay unionists into Duppers)
I think this is meeting will be beneficial for both sides as it will show Elliott that we are a significant bloc in Northern Ireland and it will give him an oppurtunity to clarify comments which I still think were manipulated against him by the populist media after a headline.
Fair play to ‘em!
It’s never too late to learn!
