  1. The video on YouTube should be flagged for a variety of reasons – bullying, hateful etc. IMO

  2. OMFG! *Shakes head*

  3. I can’t believe it… This world is full of sh*t

  4. NEVER think they are on our side. They hate us cause they fear us.

  5. Shaded Spriter 30 Dec 2010, 3:39pm

I didn’t have a problem with it because it is obvious comedy – I mean there accounting of the wikileaks had Assange being chased by Sarah Palin firing an assault rifle.

  6. its just not funny 30 Dec 2010, 4:58pm

Stupid slitty eyed taiwanese ugly mongs. But what do you expect from a country who eat dogs and sell their children to the local brothel.

    ONLY JOKING.

  7. I think Elton probably commissioned this cartoon, the years and pounds they’ve taken off of him in the animation.

  8. How totally offensive this animation is. The individuals who created it are conscienceless.

  9. Hodge Podge 30 Dec 2010, 5:28pm

I don’t know enough about Taiwanese comedy to work out which bits are ironic, but I think there’s nastiness in there.

Chill out, guys. I’m Taiwanese, and I don’t get why the people who are offended by the video attack the fact that they are Taiwanese first. Why don’t you attack the fact that they are animators, or on TV. Eg: Stupid TV, always trying to get ratings with silly stuff.

Aren’t we supposed to be tolerant and understanding of problems with these reductionist arguments? I’m sure everyone would be offended if a similar report about a gay person on a right-wing site was attacked because the person was gay.

We should know better that being gay isn’t the only thing that defines a person, just like the originating country of an animator doesn’t warrant any criticism of its people. Although if you do want to comment, Taiwan is a lot more open and liberal than a lot of other countries.

@its just not funny: By the way, snake tastes better.

  11. What a load of cheap Taiwanese crap, it fails because it’s not humorous at all plus it’s really ugly animation also.

  12. jamestoronto 31 Dec 2010, 12:43pm

    Just stupid!

  13. eldripheus 1 Jan 2011, 4:34am

Still a baby and already getting so much hate from the world D:

    @cryptopath
The people who attacked the video by first saying it’s ‘Taiwanese’ probably don’t actually have anything against Taiwanese people, it was probably just a very convenient angle to attack it from.

I agree though, responding to acts of hate with similar acts of hate isn’t right.

    Brilliant,absolutely pissed myself.
Poor little kid. Will always have plenty of cash but will to have endure the fact he has 2 pink pansies for parents. What he really needs is a MOTHER.Two excuses for ‘men’ is no replacement for a real mother in its formative years.

  15. Disrespectful as it involves a child, but otherwise I’m sure it was meant in good humour.

  16. An Cat Dubh 2 Jan 2011, 7:36am

@Beaverhunter: I’m not surprised with you pissing yourself, but I don’t see how it’s related to the article…

  17. Beaverhunter,

You really don’t sound much like father material yourself.

Now go back to your closet and attend to your stack of stroke magazines before someone discovers your preference for gay websites over beaver pie.

  18. And do some of you think your racism is any better? You should be ashamed of yourself you hateful little peasants.

The video itself made me laugh because it’s so clearly a comedy. Do you seriously believe that this child will be brought up by a bodnage gear wearing geriatric?

  19. Danny there are no racist comments posted in this thread, the comment by “It’s just not funny” is making a valid point and the poster even tells you this comment is ironic in case anyone took it the wrong way.

My comment about this cheap & crap item made in Taiwan is purely about a product, not about people.

You should always report genuinely racist comments but please don’t make vague accusations of racism that are unfounded.

  20. It seems that some gay men are comfortable with their racism and pink news allows it.

  21. Michael B 3 Jan 2011, 1:38pm

Come on people! Its hilarious, Its obviously not a serious attack on Elton and is intended to be funny. I think some people just need to learn to laugh at themselves and stop being so touchy.

  22. James 1st, you are clearly trying to switch and change the topic of this thread from the casual homophobia of an ugly animation to one of racism toward it’s producers, the question is why?
The Taiwanese producers of this dross are not the victims here though you’d like to pretend they are…quite pathetic.

  23. The series of animation is more like a skit in mean-hearted ways that is inherently homophobic in that its past victims include Tiger Woods the serial cheater.
Just like this country though. It’s only pretty and tolerant when one sees this country from a distance. Recently, there were news about a trans engineer being fired by one of Taiwan’s largest and prestigious hospitals.

    its just not funny,
How old are you? Taiwanese don’t eat dogs nowadays, so you can’t be that young if you still hold such misconception.

  24. “Stupid slitty eyed taiwanese ugly mongs. But what do you expect from a country who eat dogs and sell their children to the local brothel.”

Pavlos, I wasn’t referring to your comment but the comment highlighted above.

  25. Danny… exactly, you overlook the most important line from that comment
    “ONLY JOKING”

  26. Hey, hey Pavlos.
    The video… it was…

    JUST JOKING!

Stop being hypocritical. The comment is still racist, even if it is joking, just like the video is to you.

  27. Can we stop diverting attention from the real issue here. This video is homophobic. And yes the comment is racist, but does reveal that by saying something is “a joke” doesn’t make it less offensive. And Pixelititeterileitee, the big difference between the comment you’re talking about and the video is that the video was seen by millions on TV, made by a group to represent what ‘taiwan’ may think about elton’s baby saga. Whereas the comment is seen by about 20 people and written by an individual to represent what 1 person thinks. big difference.
