  1. What vile disgusting scum. You make me vomit.

Sadly the prison sentence awarded to you scum will be around 3/4 years I guess. I really would lock you up and throw away the key.

I’m still baffled why they have been found guilty of manslaughter and not murder. Do killing someone from the LGBT community not become worthy of a murder charge?

Does this mean they will get a much lighter sentence?

I hope not. Time to tell these thugs violence and abuse doesn’t pay. Lock em up, End of!

  3. They have been found guilty of manslaughter on the evidence. Evidence was produced to show that after the event of killing an innocent man none of the people involved showed any sign of concern over what they had just done. Let’s hope a long sentence in prison might give them time to appreciate fully the gravity of their crime. They are vile disgusting worthless scum and well deserve every day they spend in a cell.

  4. Whatever sentence is handed down to these scum won’t be enough. I would gladly see them locked away behind bars for the rest of their lives. They are worse than animals and don’t deserve to be treated as decent human beings.

  5. Animals like those that did this should be treated as exactly that. Lock them up, and spay them so they can’t breed other animals.
    RIP Ian.

  6. Jock S. Trap:
The reason is murder requires “malice aforethought” – ie They planned to kill him, rather than it being a spontaneous incident, hence the manslaughter charge.

Personally, I think they ought to have got murder, but there is no way of proving they went out to kill anyone, so that’s just the way the cookie crumbles, I’m afraid.

  7. Ignorant, disgusting and pathetic losers who deserve to be locked up for a long time. Pity the one with the previous history of violence hadn’t been dealt with properly at the time.

  8. I worked with Ian many years ago and he was a lovely caring guy. These scum make me sick to the core. lock them up and throw away the key ! Hanging is to good for them.
I hope they really suffer in prison and that they get the maximum sentence . Unlikely because they are heterosexual but one can hope !

‘none of the people involved showed any sign of concern over what they had just done’

The Daily Mail reports that one complained that her shoes where spoiled in the attack – yes, they where stained with Baynham’s blood you cold, callous bastard.

  10. Just makes you realise how far we still have to go. They are worse than animals lacking any pity or compassion. As they are sraight no doubt their sentence will not be too bad. No doubt some idiot will say they are deprived and misunderstood.

‘No doubt some idiot will say they are deprived and misunderstood’

Yes they have on the Stonewall Facebook page.

Apparently they’re young and have their life ahead of them and we wouldn’t want their life’s ruined…

They’re fvcking life’s? What about the poor ba5tard who died because they beet him to death? Did he not deserve to live?

    1. There will always be naive idiots who, rather perversely, side with the scumbags just to make some sort of sociological statement. Those people need help.

  12. It pleases me greatly to think the lives of these scumbags are effectively over – funnily enough it was on the comments pages of the Daily Mail where people were calling for them to be burned alive. I hope they are given the chance to read what society thinks of them.

I hope Joel Alexander rots in a cell, terrorised 24/7 by repressed sex abusers – with a youtube video of his torment for friends and family to see. Merry Christmas, Joel!

  13. I agree with all the expressions of disgust for what Thomas, Burke and Alexander did to Ian Baynham. But what they did was just one incident in the vast cauldron of human intolerance that bubbled to the surface, made it into the media and has had judicial consequences. We can legislate against crime, even hate crime, but we can’t legislate hatred out of existence. Tragically, it’s part of the human condition.

  14. Bad things happen in prisons..

I hope they get it all.

A gay guy gets killed its manslaughter, but if he were black or Asian and died at the hands of these scumbags it would probably be a verdict of murder plus inquests into how to promote racial tolerance in London.

  16. “A gay guy gets killed its manslaughter, but if he were black or Asian and died at the hands of these scumbags it would probably be a verdict of murder plus inquests into how to promote racial tolerance in London.”

    Rubbish.

“lock them up and throw away the key ! Hanging is to good for them.”

I realise you are probably very upset by his death, but if I am ever murdered by homophobes or anyone, I hope that nobody will use my death to come out with this kind of “string ‘em up” ranting.

  17. I dont think some people on here know the law when Hate Crime is concerned.
A person who is convicted of Hate Crime in England motivated by sexuality will have their sentenced doubled.
This became law back in 2006 so what ever sentence is passed to these evil scum bags will be doubled because of the victims sexuality.

  18. lock em up? why not just kill them like they killed him? makes sense to me.
