  1. Glenn Burke was a good guy, I knew him when he was playing in the major leagues. I was a photographer for several gay papers, and he asked me not to take any pictures of him, and I respected his wishes. This documentary showed that 2 Major League Managers were homophobes. When Tommy La Sorta heard that Glenn was dating his son… he had Glenn Traded to the Oakland A’s. Their manager introduced Glenn at Spring Training, and added “By the way, he’s a fagot!

When he quit baseball, he played in the San Francisco gay softball league… and was well liked. However, he began to hang around with the crowd, and became addicted to drugs. I have a cameo in this documentary… and I also attended Glenn’s funeral.

  2. Hey All, You are wrong about Burke being the only Out baseball player. There is also Billy Bean. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Bean

  3. Your right Mike, however Burke was the first to publicly announce his coming out. I used to watch Bean play at Wrigley Field in Chicago.
