  1. such a shame!

  2. Hate to say it, but it was rather the elephant in the room when he was found asphyxiated whilst naked at home with a bag over his head.
Naturally they didn’t want to dwell on it on the news obituaries, but I assumed we all figured that’s what happened anyway.
What a waste… a talented handsome guy like that resorting to solo performances. Autoerotic asphyxiation is like playing Russian roulette with your sex-life.

  3. depressing all that for a wank

  4. what a tragic shame; such a nice guy!

Did we really need it headlined?

It’s not really in the public interest just prurience. Better to have left his family to their private grief

I have to agree this article is in bad taste.

There is gay news, then there is “OMFG HE ASPHYXIATED HIMSELF” which makes Pink News seem like a bunch of voyeurs when they slapped as headlines.

I’m torn- I am sort of disgusted that the private stuff has been spread everywhere. But I’m NEVER going to try auto-erotic suffocation after this.

  8. How desperately sad that someone who appeared to have so much going for him felt the need for this squalid sort of thrill. ‘All that for a wank’ indeed.

  9. Where those people learn about those strange and dangerous ways of sex games? And one could be tempted to think that he appeared to be good looking enough as to resort to such ludicrous sexual games. It’s too late to repent. And I get that people who are hedonistic enough as to gamble their life into such activities will give a speck about what happened with this guy.

Breath Play is more dangerous than hard drugs.

  11. I agree that this is a sad event, but the judgmental comments only add insult to injury. If Digby wished to pleasure himself the way he did, and it did not involve hurting anyone else against their will, who are we to decide that it was wrong or that good looking (or any kind of) blokes can’t/shouldn’t get off that way? Pink News does little to help the matter with the sensationalistic headline and the lack of privacy for the family. So much for resting in peace.

  12. I think what Kristian was doing for pleasure was his business and it is in bad taste to go on about it. I feel saddened by the loss of a talented man like Kristian and that is all there is to it. Look at the wonderful things he did and honour his memory by thinking well of him.

  13. Kristian was handsome, talented and represented the gay community better than many of us. His personal interests were his business alone. No-one should judge him or what he liked. If he enjoyed it without forcing others against their will then that’s to be respected. Many of us do things we probably wouldn’t want published if truth be known. Kristian was probably very happy but sadly wasn’t safe enough on this occasion. I will always respect him for what he was and what he enjoyed, and give my heart to his family and friends in total support for them … isn’t that what Kristian would appreciate?

  14. I dont think the article sensationalises what happened to this poor chap, but as this newspaper is supposed to serve the gay community I would expect them to do a little more to highlight the dangers of this practise. Certainly if a member of my family died in this way I wouldn’t anyone else to lose their life because of it. Why should there be such a stigma attached.
