I have always considered the unspoken but utterly unchallenged heteronormativity of programmes like this one to be pernicious. Why on earth should pair-dancing require participants to be of opposite genders, ESPECIALLY when there is an obvious sexualised undertone to much of the proceedings. This is a very welcome step indeed, and I hope that it spreads to the UK equivalent of the programme very soon.
Wow, even I didn’t know about that, and I live in Israel… Well, perhaps it’s because I have no interest in reality TV and GoGay.co.il hasn’t updated in ages now…
This isn’t something that new. There have been plenty of same-sex couples on Israeli reality programmes before, one of them even won in one of them. But I think they were all male, so I suppose this is a welcomed change ^^
And just one last thing: *Ms Shem-Tov, Asaf

Well, Suppose Stricly Come Dancing on BBC can include a Same-Sex couple couldn’t it?

It will never happen in the UK. But if it did, the public would vote out the same-sex couple first.
an example to follow!
