Eleven men have now been arrested in connection with an anti-gay attack in the Bronx, New York.

Luis Garcia, 26, was arrested by New York police yesterday after a gay man, his brother and two teenage boys were attacked on October 3rd.

Mr Garcia is said to have wrapped a chain around his fist and punched the 30-year-old gay man twice in the head.

Police said the attack took place after a gang, known as the Latin King Goonies, suspected that a new recruit was gay.

The teenager was beaten by the gang, who then lured his older boyfriend to an empty house where he was beaten and sexually assaulted, police said.

Another teenager suspected to be gay was also allegedly beaten and sexually abused, while the older man’s brother was said to have been robbed and beaten.

According to the New York Daily News, prosecutors say they now have enough evidence to present to a grand jury.

The 11 suspects are Luis Garcia, 26; Jose Dominguez, 22; Ildefonzo Mendez, 23; Elmer Confresi, 23; David Rivera, 21; Steven Caraballo, Denis Peitars, Nelson Falu and Bryan Almonte, all 17; and Brian Cepeda, 16.

All say they are not guilty.
