    Pre-launch will celebrate LGBT sporting history

    4:49 PM — A pre-launch event will be held at Twickenham rugby stadium next month for LGBT History Month. The yearly celebration of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans culture will focus on sport in February 2011 and 2012 to coincide with Britain hosting the 2012 Olympic Games.

    1:29 PM — Two men were arrested on Sunday evening after a man was beaten in a "homophobic" attack in the Stonewall Inn in New York. The pub is a symbol of the birth of the gay rights movement after patrons staged protests in 1969 against police raids.

    11:00 AM — A trans woman in Hong Kong has been barred from marrying her boyfriend. The woman, known only as 'W', was born male and transitioned several years ago. However, she is barred under city law from changing her birth certificate to female, meaning she has been unable to marry.

    10:57 AM — Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe has said he is "heartbroken" after hearing about a spate of suicides among young gay American men. The straight star has become known as a gay rights advocate, having recently appeared in a television ad to combat homophobia.
