sorry to get a bit offf topic but need some help Can someone/ anyone please tell me the true state of affairs of being gay in Libya, these days and if being gay leads to persecution or can one live a open gay lifestyle.
I know that one can upto 5 years of imprisonment and that it does not recognise same sex relationships, but the question i am asking is does one get …really be put…… into jail …or abused due to being gay .

  2. Libya ? Probably death by stoning.

There is a movie that includes footage of the work of those in Moscow to promote gay equality, and it includes interviews with Nikolai Alekseev. It is a very moving film and although it only focusses on a few places in the world, it does demonstrate how far we’ve come and how far we still have to go.

Sorry, the name of the movie is:

“Beyond Gay: The Politics of Pride” (Documentary, 2009, Canada, 85 Minutes).
