Well I’d like the Tory Party to speak to the Law and Justice Party in Poland and to encourage them to condemn this stupid book.
The Tories want to portray themselves as a modern gay friendly party.
Well here’s a chance for them to show that they have influenced their extreme right, homophobic allies in Poland for the better.
What is Nick Herbert’s advice to the Law and Justice Party on this issue (seeing as he is the ‘official’ Tory spokesgay)?
Or is Poland as backward and stupid and homophobic and primitive as ever?
Excuse me, but there is no need to pour anti-Polish sentiment here. The British used to send gays to labour camps, while Poland was the fist country to decriminalise homosexuality. Watch your own programmes from the 80s…
Us, gays in Poland don’t need you saying that Poland is “backward as ever”. Thank you for that:P But what you could do is help us, and put preassure on your politicians to help us. Tories would be a good start, but they never intended really to work with Law and Justice party o their homophobia. For Law and Justice party, their homophobia is not only part of their agenda, but also of their identity and of their “patriotism”. They will never change. So if Tories really cared, they would never become their allies.
Grzegorz Zurawski, an education ministry spokesman said:
“We can’t withdraw a book simply because a group of people disagree with the theories expounded by the scholars who wrote it,”
What a stupid comment, clearly the issue here is not content of the book but selection of literature for teaching. It just shows what kind of bigoted morons run education in Poland.
There are legitimate issues here, but it is extremely inappropriate to use racist language like “polick”.
“There are legitimate issues here, but it is extremely inappropriate to use racist language like “polick”. ”
Indeed it is Dermot. Indeed it is.
Are you ashamed of yourself?
You’re the only person who has used that term in your post!
It’s a shame there isn’t a hell for these religious bigots to go to.
It’s a textbook case of faith-based homophobic bigotry intruding into education and damaging children’s lives with misinformation and propaganda.

Another example of why Poland should not have been given membership of the EU, despite the pressure from George Bush and Tony Blair – it wasn’t, and still isn’t ready to reach the standards required prior to admission.
I’m sure Polish civil servants have enough education to understand that scholars’ theories can be discriminatory. Their policy is just that EU (or CoE) laws don’t apply to Poland if they don’t like them.
First of all STFU about my country, education level and telling us what we have to do to be modern and gay like old members of EU. We dont care about your theory. All polish emigrants should shut up too until you are abroad. Many people here think it is illness and gays should sitting in their bedrooms and play with themselves. Such deviation is the same as koprofobia or sodomy. Stop doing this to normal. It is a disease and we tolerate sick people and we will not teach our children that being gay or another deviant is a normal thing. BTW – our membership in EU is another long story.
