I thought it was a requirement that trans people lived as their adopted sex for a year before they had the op. So this person would have had no choice but to dress as a woman.
The Lincolnshire Echo is owned by Northcliffe Media (Daily Mail), so we shouldn’t expect anything else. You can try and comment on the story, but they’ll probably remove it.

I too am Transsexual and a support worker for mental health & learning disabilities.
I had no trouble with my employers with my transition. You need to tell them about Diversity & equality.
Then find a company that promotes Diversity & equality, like Home Ltd

Rachel, if you read this site, I wish you well and hope that you win your case. Trans is complicated for most people to get their heads around – I only just got my head around it after speaking with Trans people on pinknews.

Just to be clear, if you have gender reassignment in England, on the NHS, they insist you live in your ‘new’ gender role for 2 years not 1. Pretty much the only public health service in the world to do so – everywhere else the protocol is 1 year.
It sounds like Rachel has a cast iron case, as long as she is prudent with how she handles this story and does not let the media mess it up for her. No-one can be sacked ‘out of the blue’, other than for things like gross misconduct. This sounds like good ole fashion’d transphobic discrimination – illegal.
