UK Black Pride takes place in London this Saturday

The fifth annual UK Black Pride celebrations are to take place this weekend in the grounds of north London’s Regent’s Park College.

Black Pride is the UK’s biggest celebration of LGBT people from Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Middle East and Latin America. This year’s theme is “Pride: A Deeper Love”.

The festival will include various bars, international food stalls, VIP tent, Secret Garden, chill-out zone, games area, education and welfare workshops, children’s area, communities marketplace and much more.

Acts performing on the main stage include Tony Hendrix, Lorna Gayle, Keith Jarrett and Whitney Houston impersonator Ikenna Amaechi. 1970s reggae and Lover’s Rock queen Janet Kaye is headlining.

Guest speakers include Human Rights campaigner Peter Tatchell and after parties are being hosted by Queer Nation and Juice, both in Vauxhall.
