A 22-year-old man has been found guilty of murdering trans prostitute Destiny Lauren.

Leon Fyle, of Catford, denied killing 29-year-old Ms Lauren but was today found guilty of strangling her and stealing her possessions.

He was caught on CCTV putting on black gloves before entering her Kentish Town flat on the night of her death on November 5th 2009.

Ms Lauren, who was born male, was discovered dead by her brother shortly after Fyle left.

Snaresbrook crown court heard that Fyle had sex with Ms Lauren before killing her. He then stole £350 in cash, her mobile phone and jewellery before going to Kings Cross to sleep with two more prostitutes.

Investigating officer Detective Inspector Liz Baker of the Homicide and Serious Crime Command said that the victim was killed in a “brutal and pre-meditated” attack.

According to the News Shopper, she added that Ms Lauren was well-known in Camden, close to her father and two brothers and appreciated “the finer things in life”.

Fyle will be sentenced on September 17th.
