Police release descriptions of homophobic attack suspects
West Yorkshire police have released the descriptions of two suspects wanted in connection with a homophobic attack on a gay barman.
Dane Holdsworth, 21, from Leeds, said he was attacked by two men as he walked home from work early on Saturday morning on York Road.
He suffered cuts and bruising in the incident and says the pair knocked him unconscious after spotting his rainbow wristband.
The attack took place the day before Leeds celebrated its fifth Pride festival.
The two men were described as white, in their early twenties with shaved heads.
They were said to be wearing dark-coloured tracksuit bottoms, dark trainers and short-sleeved polo shirts.
One of the men had a tattoo of a symbol or writing on his hand.
Police said the attack took place at around 3am on Saturday morning after Mr Holdsworth, a barman at the Viaduct in Leeds city centre, was dropped off by a taxi close to his father’s house.
He was walking past the Probation Service on York Road.
His attackers fled in the direction of the city centre.
